Through a Task Force, this Web site, an Annual Conference, Case Studies and a National Reform Network, the SMHC action project will share and implement nationwide effective practices to recruit, train, retain and reward top teacher and school administrator talent. SMHC's core resources: The Odden/Kelly paper defining SMHC, a paper on talent management in the private sector, case studies on leading-edge SMHC practices and a set of papers on teacher compensation.

The principals’ view

The National Association of Secondary School Principals would like to share the following position statements relating to some of the issues that emerged at the first SMHC Task Force meeting. The first one is on the issue of national standards, the second is on highly effective principals and the third is on professional compensation for principals. The NASSP Board of Directors unanimously adopted all three statements. We hope these papers will inform the conversations on these issues.
